The 4-way splitters then connect up to the 2-way splitter and that connects to the driver - simple! 😉

The thing about these end caps is that they actually cost us little money, so we feel a bit rude for selling them.

We've put it as free postage (UK only), and we'll do that first class so that's 65 pence down - so I guess you're paying 35p for us to find the bag with them in, count out 10 and then put them in an envelope.

For those of us that have to slum it with UK festivals, it is also a useful and robust EL Wire set to make you stand out from the crowd.

This listing is for 3 metres (3 x 1m lengths) of 3.2mm Electro - Luminescent Wire, a portable driver and a 3 way splitter.

The splitter lets you have 3 x 1 metre lengths of EL Wire attached to one driver/inverter.

This 3.2mm EL Wire can be any combination of these colours:

Our drivers can run many strips of wire as long as the total length of the wire is under the driver's maximum capacity (in this case under 5m).

With some care, the EL wire can be attached to speaker wire to make patterns or extend the wire over gaps where it isn't needed.

Joining tape and heat-shrink tubing are also available if you want to cut the EL wire and rejoin it or perhaps attach some wire to a different driver.

Cutting the wire into the length you choose is simple... but rejoining it takes care and attention.

You will also definitely need some wire-strippers.

You can happily use the joining tape and heat shrink tubing supplied for a decent join but if the joint is likely to encounter stress (e.g. if it is threaded into clothes that will then be bent and jostle) or if the join may be hard to reach (e.g. behind a panel in a car) then we would advise soldering to avoid future hassle.

This is essentially an EL starter set. It is versatile as you can have three different strands of EL Wire to work with.

With this set you get:

6 pieces of 50 cm of high quality (3.2mm) Electroluminescent Wire

A portable, adjustable EL Sequencer that is a really neat little EL Unit.

It is about the same size as a standard EL Driver for 3m of EL Wire (9cm x 3cm x 2.5cm) but it has 3 outputs which sequence in a 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3... pattern

There is a dial on the side which lets you adjust the speed of this pattern from the slowest (0.7sec) right up until the wires are strobing so fast they appear constant.

The mode button also allows the EL Wires to be 'on' constantly if you prefer

EL Panel Illuminated Backlight for Spektrum DX6i and DX7 Controllers (may fit other models)

Ladies and/or Gentlemen may we present an Electroluminescent Panel and Driver/Inverter for the Spektrum controllers DX6i and DX7.

For the DX7 you will need to trim a little off the bottom of this Panel, (use sharp scissors and not a scalpel blade), and ensure that you reseal any 'cut' edges with glue before installing.

For the DX6i you will need to cut a little off the end of the Panel.

(For other models you will need to measure the screen size to see if it will fit)

The Panel size is 85mm x 55mm with a lit area of 80mm x 50mm.

The Driver should be powered straight from the device you are backlighting.

We have a choice of tiny waterproof 4.5v, 6v, 9v or 12v Drivers that are designed to be as small as possible so as not to take up too much space (29mm x 19mm x 24mm (L x W x H))

Installing an EL Panel as a Backlight is a fairly easy procedure that basically involves accessing the screen of your device, cutting the EL Panel to the desired size, then wiring the Driver so it is powered by the device, then finally putting it all back together.

There are plenty of walk-through videos on YouTube showing step by steps on how to install an EL Backlight.

EL Tape is an incredibly versatile material ithat can be bent and wrapped around things.

MAINS POWERED - Driver/Inverter for 20 - 60m EL Wire

Here we have a 240v EL Driver which will run between 20 and 60 metres of EL Wire.

Running any less wire than 20 metres will reduce the lifespan of the wire and put strain on the driver as it is being underpowered.

Can be supplied with a UK, EU or US mains plug.

There is a 25cm wire with a universal EL wire connector on the end which can plug into EL Wire or a splitter giving you several strands of glowing wire.

Using splitters it can run as many strands as you like as long as the total is under 60 metres.
