Mains PSU - UK mains to 12V
This is a plug that goes into the mains power and then converts the mains AC power to 12V DC which is what many of our EL Drivers are powered by.
Since EL Wire is very low power, we only have these power supply units that output a maximum of 1A.
These power supply units are recommended to be used with our adaptable drivers.

Sewable EL Wire - Easy Sew Tag @ £3.50 per metre
This handy item is a 2.3mm EL wire with sewable tag running along it; it is available in lengths of 50cm, 1m, 3m, 5m and 10 metre.
(EL wire needs a Driver to make it glow - available from £4 in the Inverter/Driver section of the website).

EL Wire twisted into a spiral
The wire is available in any of these colours:
Light Blue (Tron Blue), Purple, Deep Blue, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Lime Green, Turquoise-Green (being discontinued), Grass Green and White
Because the EL naturally glows blue/green the brightest colour of the wire is the Light Blue, Lime Green and White. The least bright are the red and purple as they have to be filtered the most to get the colours right.
The wire has a connector already attached and ready to clip into an EL Driver - THE DRIVER HAS TO BE BOUGHT SEPARATELY
By using splitters you can also connect different strands to the same Driver.

Our rechargeable Li-ion batteries have been specially made for EL Wire Craft and are made with the highest quality Lithium Polymer technology.
While trying out different battery systems, we found that many of them exaggerated the milliamp/Hour ratings. These batteries are within 10% of the rating at which they have been given.
They also feature overcharge protection.
They do not have their own on/off switch as we found this was unnecessary and just added another element that could fail.

Here we have a large and powerful EL Driver that is sealed within a waterproof casing - reducing the whistle while also making it water-resistant.
This is a 12v driver (with crocodile clips) which will run between 5 and 15 metres of EL neon glow wire or 150 - 400 square centimetres of EL Tape or EL Panel.
The driver DOES NOT have an on/off switch or a blinking function
But does have two integral screw fixing points on either side of it so it can be fastened down.
It has a water-tight seal all round it including where the wires come in and out of it. Attached in a sensible place it should withstand all types of weather.
Its dimensions are: 4cm x 3cm x 3cm (L x W x H)
The screw fixing tabs stick out 6mm each on the 4cm side and could easily be cut off

Portable Mini Driver for 1 metre EL Wire or 50sq cm EL Tapes/Panels
Here we have a really handy small portable EL Driver that takes 1 x AAA battery (battery not supplied).
It's dimensions are: 5.1cm x 2.9cm x 1.5cm and it can power up to 2 metres of EL Wire but it is ideal when running 1 metre or under of EL Wire.
When it is used to drive more than 1 metre of EL Wire, the whistle of the inverter becomes audible.
(This is important to consider if you are using it in a hat or mask)

Buckle Driver for 1m EL Wire
This is a really handy small portable EL Driver that runs off of 3 x AG13 batteries (not supplied)
It is only: 6cm x 3.5cm x 1.3cm
It can run 1 metre of EL wire or 25squ cm or under,
The whole unit comes in two parts that each have a 2.5cm wide belt loop built in. These click together so the driver can easily be built into any rucksack or a thin belt

6cm or 10cm Diameter Round EL Panel
Here we have two separate items: either a 6cm or 10cm diameter circular EL Panel.
Ideal for backlighting dashboard gauges the EL Panel glows very brightly and can also be used for decoration or fancy-dress costumes
The Panel needs an Inverter/Driver to power it, and we have a choice of 4.2v, 6v, 9v and 12v drivers that are designed not to take up too much space if you are installing it as a backlight - or can be portable if it is for a costume.

EL panels are powered by a small inverter that produces a low-current high voltage. Keep the panel, its flat tape lead and the connectors completely dry: water, rain and sweat can cause discomfort or a mild electric tingle. If wearing it on the skin, make sure the skin and panel are clean and dry, and avoid wearing it during heavy sweating (e.g. dancing in clubs, hot weather). Do not use if damaged, wet or modified. Remove immediately if you feel any tingling or discomfort. Not suitable for children.
