The whole of the set is plug and play, but you will need your own backing material or wall to attach your sign too

ULTRA EL Wire - High Intensity @ £6 per metre

ULTRA EL Wire lives up to its name by bringing together the latest breakthroughs in electroluminescent technology to create an intensely bright glowing wire that outshines all other types of EL Wire (including Double Core)

At a sturdy 2.6mm in diameter, you will find while making patterns with this ULTRA EL Wire, it will hold itself rigid when bent into its desired shape, (1.0mm EL Wire also does this, but ULTRA EL Wire creates a much more robust form)

Please note ULTRA EL Wire has to be handled more carefully than standard EL Wire, there are three things to be aware of:

1. The bend radius of Ultra EL Wire is 1.2cm which is much less than standard EL Wire which is 5mm.
2. The breaking strain is 500g, compared to 1kg for standard EL Wire.
3. Pressure on the Ultra EL Wire should not be more than 500g, this means it cannot be pinched too hard or trodden on

These spectacular improvements are due to bringing together these latest breakthroughs in electroluminescent technology:

1. A thicker copper core gives a greater area of luminosity and helps the EL Wire hold its shape
2. Premium Grade 'next generation' Phosphors are used to coat the core to give the most intense bright neon effect possible

3. Thicker internal corona wires - that's right! Thicker corona wires spiral around the core, this provides maximum exposure of the current applied to the Wire

Comparing 1metre of 2.3mm, 3.2mm and ULTRA EL Wire

ULTRA EL Wire uses exactly the same splitters, drivers and sequencers as standard EL Wire.

It will draw twice as much current to feed its increased brightness

So please remember to treat ULTRA EL Wire like the Double Core EL Wire and halve the EL Driver rating when using ULTRA EL Wire

e.g. if the EL Driver is rated for 5-10m Standard EL Wire then that EL Driver can power 2.5m-5m of ULTRA EL Wire

if the EL Driver is for 10-30 metres standard EL Wire, then it should power 5-15m ULTRA EL Wire

Comparing 2.3mm, 3.2mm and ULTRA EL Wire

As with all electroluminescent technology, because the EL naturally glows blue/green the brightest colour of the wire is the Aqua, Lime Green and White. The least bright are the red and purple as they have to be filtered the most to get the colours right.

Here we have some beautiful EL Wire which is 5mm thick, with a colourful pattern and glows when the wire is attached to an EL Driver.

Many strands of EL Wire can be connected to a single driver by using a splitter.

*It is not recommended to use a micro EL Driver for this multicoloured EL Wire. Because of the colourful sleeve, we recommend you use the brightest, most powerful driver you can*

This wire comes with a standard connector so simply plugs into any EL inverter - this makes it easy to change between coloured wire on one inverter.

By using splitters you can also connect different strands to the same inverter.

This wire can be cut into smaller lengths and attached to another drivers.

Our drivers can run many different strips of wire as long as the total length of the wire is under the drivers maximum capacity.

With some care, the EL wire can be attached to thin electrical wire to make patterns or extend the wire over gaps where it isn't needed.

Joining tape and heat shrink tubing are also available if you want to cut the EL wire and rejoin it or perhaps attach some wire to a different driver.

Cutting the wire into the length you choose is simple... but rejoining it takes care and attention.

You will also definitely need some wire strippers.

You can happily use the joining tape and heat shrink tubing supplied for a decent join but if the joint is likely to encounter stress (e.g. if it is threaded into clothes that will then be bent and jostle) or if the join may be hard to reach (e.g. behind a panel in a car) then we would advise soldering to avoid future hassle.

For this Dance Act set, the driver is very powerful and so it comes with a separate power pack that takes 8 x AA batteries or a powerful rechargeable (3000mAh) Lithium-Ion Battery and battery charger (please choose the plug type you need)

This listing is for 2.3mm Electroluminescent glow wire with a chasing motion.

2 way Switch Splitter with "Middle: ALL ON"

2 Way Splitter with "Middle: ALL ON" Switch

These splitters are a handy and cheap way of making different parts of your EL costume/project light up

The EL Splitter Switch is simply a 2 way splitter with a 3 way switch on it

the switch has three positions:

Switch to the left: Channel A ON + Channel B OFF

Switch to the right: Channel A OFF + Channel B ON

Switch in the middle: Both Channels ON

(we also have another "Both OFF" switch splitter - on this one, the Switch in middle is both channels OFF)

The spitter is 20cm in total and it is often used with extender wires running down the sleeve to allow the switch splitter to sit in your hand

This "Middle: All ON" Switch Splitter is useful is you want to control the EL Wire of two different parts of the same project

(This costume is made slightly more complicated by the fact the Mask part is constantly ON - a full description is below)

On this costume there is a two-way splitter straight after the EL Driver

Channel 1 leads up to the head part of the costume so this is constantly ON

Channel 2 leads to the Splitter Switch

The Splitter Switch itself is a 2 way splitter so coming out of this is:

Channel A goes to the EL Wire that makes the Body of the costume

Channel B goes to the EL Wire that makes the Legs of the costume

The wearer can then control if they want it all lit up, or just the body lit, or just the legs lit up

3cm x 1 metre DOUBLE ENDED EL Tape Cut to Make 2 Strips of Any Length

With this 'double ended' EL Tape you end up with two pieces of EL Wire for the price of one! - just cut it in half.

This is a 3cm wide and 1 metre long strip of Electro-Luminescent Tape.

*The full Glow area of the Tape is 2.3cm x 1 metre*

The EL Tape has a connector attached to BOTH ENDS:

This means it can be cut into two pieces of any length you choose.

A 2 Way Splitter is also provided so you can run both the EL Tapes from just one driver.

When cutting EL Tapes or Panels, it is best to use sharp scissors and to seal the cut afterwards with glue and/or clear nail varnish.

This is a 5 cm wide and 35cm long strip of glowing Electroluminescent Tape.

It is ideal for using as an arm band for Detroit: Become Human cosplay

If needed, this EL Panel can be cut down to size using sharp scissors.

When cutting EL Tape or Panel it is best to use sharp scissors or craft knife and to seal the cut afterwards with glue and/or clear tape.

This EL Panel is available in Light Blue (Tron Blue) and White.

This small portable unit will light up to 3 metres of chasing EL wire or 1 metre of Ultra Chasing Wire.
